I had the great privilege to battle Rex a few times. First in London, at the massive Electric Ballroom; then again in New York City, at the legendary Limelight. He meant more to the London underground music scene than he often got credit for, and sadly now many will never know.
Rex stayed with me when he visited the city, and we’d often stay up late nights talking about music and the clubs we’d build someday. It was mere days ago that I spoke to him last. It’s difficult to think we’ll never spin together again. I considered him a colleague and a friend. He will be greatly missed.
Goodbye, mate. Keep the decks warm for the rest of us.
